Rev. Robert D. Hopper
Bob Hopper was born September 3, 1951. Bob graduated from Grove City College in 1973 with his wife of 43 years, Tacey, whom he met in a line during freshman orientation. They were married on January 5, 1974 in the chapel at Grove City College. They later attended Gordon Consell theological Seminary in South Hampton, Massachusetts. In his 39 years as a pastor, Bob's ministry was profoundly impacted by his mentors Dr. R.C. Sproul, Dr. John Gerstner, Jack Miller and Dr. Larry Crabb as he served as the pastor for churches in Pittsburgh, Ligonier and virginia. He spent 11 years as pastor of North Park Church in Pittsburgh. Bob was called to use his gifts of leadership, mentoring and discipleship as the transitional pastor of Central Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, Missouri from 2014-2016 and Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Wichita, Kansas, as well as churches in California and Indianapolis. Most recently Bob served Bay Presbyterian Church in Bay Village, Ohio.
Bob's passion for ministry extended to the Byerzhitsa Church in Byerzhitsa , Russa and their work, including orphanage ministry and helping with the construction of several daughter churches, for the past 16 years. Bob's constanat passion for mentoring and discipleship also showed through is work as an NRA Firearms Training Counselof and a certified SIG SAUER Master Firearms Instructor. Bob's favorite pastime was spending time with his family.
The Lord suddenly called Bob Hopper home, far too soon for those who loved him, on June 12, 2017.
